Jacob’s Bio

Jack of many trades, Jacob Anderson-Minshall is–among other things–a writer, artist, activist and environmentalist.

Jacob has created brand identities, designed websites, built databases, written grant proposals, established literary events, promoted the work of others, agitated for change, hosted radio shows, launched a national magazine and worked on a U.S. Senate campaign.

Jacob is a reporter for the LGBT radio newsmagazine, IMRU which airs on KPFK in Los Angeles. Jacob has written articles for Bitch magazine, blogged for Curve, profiled LGBT entertainers for Windy City Times and Just Out, written op-ed pieces for SheWired.com and covered environmental issues for KBOO radio and Examiner.com.

For four years, he penned the nationally-syndicated weekly column, TransNation and his work is included in anthologies like Men Speak Out: Views on Gender, Sex, and Power and Portland Queer.

With his wife, Diane, Jacob co-authors the Blind Eye mystery series (Blind Curves, Blind Leap and Blind Faith). 

A former open space ranger, Jacob is committed to preserving and restoring natural areas. He has also transformed backyards into urban gardens and introduced homeowners to edible and native landscaping.

Jacob’s artwork has been published in print and hung in shows in Seattle, New York and the San Francisco Bay Area. His photography has been printed in publications and on promotional materials and his videography has used on an online TV show.
